About us
The Cultural Association MusicaVenezia founded in 2007 in Venice promotes the spread of Italian music,
especially the music of Venice with musicians Venetian. The Artistic Director is Dr. Roberta Reeder,
a researcher who teaches at the American Conservatory Benedetto Marcello in Venice and America
has been the Artistic Director of ETC, a cultural association that promoted concerts, exhibitions,
and cultural symposium, often in association with Harvard University. MusicaVenezia main purpose is
the dissemination of Italian music, especially through Venetian events of various natures as concerts,
conferences, lectures concert halls, laboratories musical refinement high, and recording specialized
publications. To this end MusicaVenezia headed Monteverdi Festival as a tribute to the great composer
Claudio Monteverdi who was Master of the Chapel of the Basilica of San Marco in the first half of
the seventeenth century.
In December 2007 MusicaVenezia presented a concert "Domenico Scarlatti: 250 Years with songs by
Death raramenti run. In association with this celebration Marciana Library has organized an
exhibition of original manuscritti of Scarlatti sonatas from their archive.
At the Teatro La Fenice in January 2008 in association with the "Day of Remembrance" was an
agreement with the chamber works by Schoenberg, Prokoviev, Eisler, Ravel, and Haas with songs
relating to culture and the Jewish Holocaust. At the House of Carlo Goldoni, MusicaVenezia presents
a special series "Music in the Time of Carlo Goldoni. There are works by composers as Venetian
Baldassare Galuppi, Antonio Vivaldi and Benedetto Marcello. The concerts are performed by
'Ensemble MusicaVenezia with musicians playing instruments of the period of Goldoni.
MusicaVenezia also organizes concerts of Italian music of contemporary composers as Venetian Luigi Nono
and Venetian composers as Claudio Ambrosini who live now in Venice.
